Queenborough & Rushenden Local Gardens
Queenborough & Rushenden Local Gardens is an annual competition to find the Town’s best gardens. We look for creative hanging baskets, containers, imaginative front and back gardens, wildlife havens, and creative hanging baskets and containers.
Who can enter?
The competition is open to gardeners who live in Queenborough & Rushenden.
The categories
There are ten categories, which include:
- Best hanging basket
- Best container
- Best front garden
- Best in Bloom 2023
- Best public house or hotel
- Best community organisation
- Best commercial premises
- Chairperson’s Award
- Best allotment in Queenborough – for sites owned by QTC
- Secret Gardens – * for this category please see how to enter below
Judging criteria
The judges look for:
- Lawns
- Hedges
- Vegetables
- Compost areas
- Planting, annual bedding, shrub borders and other general planting
- Areas for wildlife – i.e. insect pollinators, bird boxes, bug houses
- Sustainable practices – reduce, reuse and recycle
Local Judging will take place the week commencing 24th June 2023
*Secret Gardens closing date for entries is Friday 30th June. Please submit your photos of your back garden, courtyard etc., to townclerk@queenborough-tc.gov.uk please include your name, contact number and address.
